The Shuttle, the Toronto Carpet Factory newsletter, is so-named in honour of
the original Shuttle, the Toronto Carpet Manufacturing Company’s wartime plant
periodical. (A shuttle is a pointed pod-like spool that carries the weft-thread
back and forth between alternating rows of warp thread on a loom.)
The first Shuttle told of deaths at the front, weddings, dances, retirement parties
and care packages gratefully received. The current rendition keeps businesses in
Liberty Village current on happenings in the complex, while encouraging them to
do business with their neighbours “down the hall”.
Summer 2008
A thriving addition to the complex
A boutique concept in physical fitness, aiyoku – a cardio lounge, continues to draw new members since its opening a year ago in Suite 001, 67 Mowat Ave.
Kudos & Accomplishments
to the companies and people at the Toronto Carpet Factory and York Liberty Buildings
